😜 Perplexity introduces always-on local AI system called Personal Computer
Perplexity launched Personal Computer, a local AI setup built around a Mac mini that acts as a proxy for Perplexity Computer.
The system connects the Perplexity agent with a continuously running local environment. The AI can move between tools, execute tasks autonomously, and continue work without user interaction.
It also supports remote access from any device, persistent memory, and connectors to external services. The agent can work directly with local files and projects.
Personal Computer is currently available through a waitlist.

On 12 March 2026 at 15:53, BlackRock launched the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust (ETHB) on Nasdaq, offering investors exposure to Ethereum price movements alongside staking rewards. The fund will stake 70–95% of its ETH holdings and distribute 82% of generated staking rewards to investors via monthly payouts. The remaining 18% of rewards will be retained by the trust to cover custodians and staking providers. Coinbase and Anchorage Digital serve as custodians. BlackRock will charge an introductory management fee of 0.12%, increasing to 0.25% later. Coinbase will receive a 10% staking fee, which may decrease to 6% if the fund reaches $20 billion in assets. This launch expands BlackRock's crypto ETF offerings and introduces competition with Grayscale's Ethereum staking products.

On 12 March at 15:01, an analysis titled "The Strange Geography of AI Sovereignty" argues that full technological independence is impossible due to AI's globally distributed architecture. Key components like chip design, manufacturing, and lithography are scattered across the US, Taiwan, the Netherlands, and South Korea. Despite the US holding a 95.4/100 sovereignty score and the Netherlands scoring 87.3/100, neither nation controls all necessary layers. The report highlights a geopolitical paradox: while nations compete fiercely in the AI race, the entire system remains deeply dependent on shared global infrastructure, making absolute sovereignty unattainable.

🧪US tech offices experiment with nicotine pouches for productivity
Some US tech companies have started placing free nicotine pouch dispensers in their offices. Employees over 21 can take a daily portion from the machines.
According to executives behind the program, nicotine can increase employee productivity by 20–30%. They say workers take fewer coffee breaks and stay focused longer.
The idea is being framed as part of workplace “biohacking” trends spreading through parts of Silicon Valley.

💰 Donald Trump’s net worth reaches $6

💰 Donald Trump’s net worth reaches $6.5B after crypto gains
Donald Trump’s wealth rose to about $6.5B in 2026, up $1.4B from a year earlier, according to Forbes. He now ranks 645th among the world’s 3,428 billionaires.
Crypto ventures drove much of the increase. Trump reportedly earned about $550M from token sales tied to World Liberty Financial. A sale of a 49% stake in the company to UAE-backed Aryam Investment added another $200M. Forbes estimates Trump still holds crypto assets worth about $570M.
An appeals court also removed a $517M civil fraud penalty from his liabilities. Real estate assets such as Mar-a-Lago and his golf courses also increased in value.
Some holdings declined during the year. The value of Trump Media and Technology Group fell to about $1.2B as the company reported $712M in losses on $3.7M in revenue.
